I have recently joined "Team In Training" which is a very unique charity fundraiser for leukemia and lymphoma. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, has a mission to raise money for leukemia and lymphoma research and services, to honor patients and to spread awareness.

I have made a commitment to train for a marathon to be held September 30, 2001 in Portland, Oregon. In addition to my commitment to walk/run 26.2 miles and I committed to raising $3300 to aid in the fight against leukemia. My goal is to raise the money by August 15th.

I am inspired to meet this challenge by my "honor patient", Amber Fink. Amber is a 2 year old leukemia patient.

I made a personal commitment this year to become more active and physically fit. I can't think of a better way to accomplish this goal. I know the "training" will not be easy and will truly be a challenge, but it's not nearly the challenge that Amber has faced in her short life.

If I can reach my commitment of $3300 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to aid researchers in their race to find a cure, it will be worth all the effort!
